ArtsPowered Schools 2016 was offered as an Artist in Residence Planning Greenhouse.

Gain the Arts Advantage

ArtsPowered Schools alumni were invited to apply to participate in a ArtsPowered Schools Residency Planning Greenhouse  – offered as a one-day intensive hosted in three Idaho locations: the Treasure Valley, Idaho Falls and Coeur d’Alene. In this nurturing Greenhouse environment, participating APS alumni teachers and teaching artists worked cooperatively to develop ways to meet content standards by including the arts as valuable partners in learning.
Fourteen APS Alumni Teachers and ICA Teaching Artists teams:

  • Co-created model integrated residency plans.
  • Received artist in residence funding to work together to co-teach their arts integrated unit during the 2016-17 school year.
  • Will participate in a protocol to document and assess student learning with powerful evidence.
  • Serve as models of ArtsPowered best practices to fellow teachers, artists, and a wide Idaho audience via publication and dissemination of project strategies.

ArtsPowered Schools alumni teachers and ICA teaching artists spent the day working cooperatively to develop integrated residency plans to be carried out in area classrooms during the upcoming school year.
